The complexity of the World is constantly progressing and no one can predict what the future will bring. What we can be sure of is that it will not look like today. There is an alternative way of handling the question 'how can we solve the problems of today and in the future' and that is to instead focus on “actively working for the today and the tomorrow we want to see”. Hopefully, this will be a development that take all human beings, animals and plants into consideration as well as the economical- and social systems provided to make our societies and the world go round.

Companies have a golden opportunity to take an active and leading role in this development. No one can change the world alone, but by taking a first step it may inspire others to follow. Companies taking a beneficial responsibility will have an advantage. The Development Office would like to inspire and show the possibilities with design as a powerful strategy for sustainable development. Our intention is to provide tangible examples of how companies may contribute and take an active role in designing a future wanted, a future involving everything and everybody.
